Gold Mint Marigolds (Tagetes erecta) &

           Marigold Medley (Tagetes patula)

A giant of a marigold, this flower dominates any garden setting. It grows 2-3 feet tall with bright golden-orange poms for blossoms, each 2-3 inches in diameter. Foliage is perky forest green, with clusters of small serrated leaves rounding out the plant, almost creating a small bush. Makes a good plant for ringing the veggie garden; the old timers say marigolds ward off pests.  Blooms mid-summer till the first hard frost. Then it becomes a tasty snack for white tail deer if your garden's in the country!  Actually, the smell confuses the wildlife and could be the reason for the flower's repellent characteristic.  $1.00/pack of 100+ seeds.
